Get the Basics

Are you new to computers and want to learn the basics of word processing or find better ways to search the Internet? Take part in a computer basics class. Classes generally last ninety minutes and pre-registration is required due to limited seating. Register online or by calling the Main Library at 241-1492 or the Dr. James Carlson Library at 476-5980.

eBooks & eAudiobooks: Informational help session. Do you have an eReader? Would you like to download eAudiobooks to your MP3 player?  Learn how to use the library’s downloadable collection to borrow eBooks and eAudiobooks. This presentation will teach you how to use your home computer to search, borrow, and download free materials from our website.

Computer Basics: This 90-minute, hands-on class will teach you the basics of computers and using the mouse.

Computer Basics II: This 90-minute hands-on class builds on the fundamentals in Computer Basics I & will teach you the basics of word processing, such as understanding toolbar functions, creating and spell-checking a document, changing fonts, using bullets, cutting and pasting, and saving your document. Prerequisite: Computer Basics I or basic computer and mouse experience.

Computer Stressed?!: Bring your basic computer questions to our relaxed help session and receive assistance on email, internet use, mouse skills, etc. This will be a great opportunity to ask more questions about eBooks and eAudiobooks as well! No registration necessary.
