Patrolling Your Neighborhood

Partnerships between neighborhoods and police are vital. That's why we want you to know the officers assigned to your neighborhood.

There are approximately 103 sworn officers and 6 civilian personnel assigned to the Field Services Divison of the Fargo Police Department.  The sworn personnel are assigned to three different geographical areas of the city that are overseen by a lieutenant.  These are District 1 (North District), District 2 (South District), and District 3 (West District).  The sworn officers consist of one captain, three lieutenants, 11 sergeants, and 89 officers.

Every officer assigned to a District is dedicated to providing quality police services for the citizens living and working in the area. Officers strive to know the area's residents and work with them to develop solutions to neighborhood problems. Officers identify and concentrate on traffic problems and accident prevention by increased patrol of high-accident areas and enforcing the city’s traffic laws.  Officers also work in partnership with neighborhoods and businesses to identify and address crime trends or patterns in their areas.
